## 26 questions and answers

## Algorithm, Operating Modes, Effective Price, Monte Carlo and BuyBox Strategy

### 01. What is XPrice, and how is it different from BuyBox trackers and repricer bots?

Classic repricer bots follow a simple rule: beat the competitor's list price by a cent. When two sellers run the same rule, prices race to the floor and margins disappear. XPrice is an AI-powered dynamic pricing platform that works on your net profit instead. It optimizes the effective price (what the customer pays after coupons, basket discounts and commission tiers), price elasticity and total contribution profit together.
It starts from your unit cost with shipping, commission breakpoints, the 1st and 2nd BuyBox sellers and demand elasticity. Then it runs a Monte Carlo simulation of 10,000 scenarios for every candidate strategy, with demand uncertainty and stock limits built in. You get the price with the highest expected net profit, plus a confidence score.

### 02. If competitors are cutting prices, won't raising mine kill my sales?

It depends on the product's price elasticity and its BuyBox position. Say you earn $1 net on a $10 sale. Cut to $9.50 and you earn $0.50, so you need twice the sales to break even. Raise to $10.50 and you earn $1.50. Even if unit sales drop by a third, total net profit holds.
While you hold the BuyBox, XPrice also watches the runner-up seller behind you. When the gap widens, it works out how far you can raise your price toward the runner-up's level without losing the BuyBox (Price Recovery), so you can earn more per unit while your sales velocity stays steady.

### 03. Will XPrice change my store prices while I sleep?

Only if you choose it. XPrice has three operating modes:
1) Read-Only Shadow Mode: XPrice never touches your prices. It quietly reports missed BuyBox opportunities and profit lost to coupons and commission tiers.
2) Approval Mode: XPrice shows the recommended price with expected unit sales and net profit impact. It updates your store through the official Amazon SP-API, Shopify GraphQL Admin API or Trendyol API integrations only after you approve with one click.
3) 24/7 Autopilot Mode (Auto-Pilot Repricing): XPrice writes prices fully automatically through the official Trendyol and Amazon APIs, with no approval needed, always protecting your minimum net profit and staying inside the margin floor (minimum price) and ceiling you define.

### 04. How much order history do I need for a reliable price simulation?

XPrice uses two layers of decision logic:
1) A deterministic margin, commission tier and BuyBox engine. It works even for products with no order history, as long as the required cost and commission data is in place. It calculates unit cost with shipping, marketplace commission tiers, coupon and basket discount overlaps, and 1st/2nd BuyBox competitor positions, so you can avoid loss-making prices.
2) A price elasticity (demand forecast) and Monte Carlo engine. It activates for products with enough orders and observed price changes in the last 90 days. It learns demand elasticity statistically and simulates expected unit sales and net profit change across 10,000 scenarios.

### 05. How do commissions, shipping thresholds and channel deductions affect my price on Amazon, Shopify and Trendyol?

A small change in list price can push a product into a different commission tier or shipping threshold. Through the official Amazon SP-API, Shopify GraphQL Admin API and Trendyol API integrations, XPrice calculates every channel deduction in its effective price engine: Amazon Referral Fee and FBA fee tiers, Shopify payment fees and shipping thresholds, and Trendyol product-level commission tiers (such as the Starred Product 1st, 2nd and 3rd star price thresholds) and shipping threshold rules. For shipping, it uses the "Unit Cost Including Shipping" and threshold limits you set, so inaccurate dimensional-weight data on a marketplace can't throw off your numbers. When a price drop lands you in a lower commission or shipping tier, XPrice shows to the cent whether the saving covers the lost price.

### 06. Why is cutting prices risky when stock is about to run out?

Say you have 50 units and sell 10 a day. That is 5 days of stock. If your next shipment arrives in 15 days, a price cut that speeds up demand only gets you to a stock-out sooner, and your marketplace ranking drops with it. XPrice puts your current stock and daily sales velocity into every Monte Carlo scenario. It blocks needless price cuts on stock-constrained products and favors the strategy that protects your unit margin.

### 07. How do flash sales, star campaigns and coupons affect my profit?

The biggest hidden loss on marketplaces is double-discount leakage: store coupons and basket campaigns stacking on multi-item orders. XPrice cross-checks official Seller API data against live product page scans to separate active coupons, minimum thresholds and basket discounts. It then calculates the effective price the customer actually pays at checkout, not just the display price. It also simulates how coupons and basket discounts change the effective price the customer actually faces, double-discount leakage and the impact on campaign profitability.

### 08. How are round-trip shipping losses calculated for high-return products?

XPrice builds expected returns into unit economics by subtracting the expected return logistics and handling loss from the profit of a successful sale. Take $4.50 contribution per successful order, a $9 round-trip shipping and handling loss per return and a 10% return probability. Expected net contribution per order is 0.90 × 4.50 − 0.10 × 9 = $3.15. Set your product-level "Unit Cost Including Shipping" and minimum margin in XPrice, and you can load your category's return burden into unit cost so the hidden-loss risk of high-return products shows up in your pricing decisions during campaigns.

### 09. Does XPrice only show a recommended price, or also its expected impact on unit sales and net profit?

It shows the impact too. For every product, XPrice simulates 5 pricing strategies across 10,000 Monte Carlo scenarios: Keep Current Price, Win the BuyBox on Price, Net-Contribution-Protected Competitive Strategy, Raise Price Against the Runner-up (Price Recovery) and Drop into a Lower Commission Tier. For the recommended price you see the effective price, the expected change in unit sales, the expected net profit difference and a 0-100 confidence score, all calculated from your unit cost including shipping.

### 10. Where does competitor price data come from, and what happens when I already hold the BuyBox?

XPrice combines official marketplace Seller API data (including Amazon SP-API, Shopify GraphQL Admin API and Trendyol BuyBox services) with scheduled and on-demand live store and product page scans, and cross-checks the two. If you don't hold the BuyBox, it analyzes the leader's display price, coupon, basket discount, delivery time and rating. If you do, it watches the runner-up behind you. When that seller runs out of stock or stays priced higher, XPrice shows you the chance to raise your price while keeping the BuyBox (Price Recovery), so you don't leave profit on the table.

### 11. What is the Different-Brand Substitutes & Hedonic Parity Corridor, and does it change my main price recommendation?

No, it doesn't change the main recommendation. The Different-Brand Substitutes & Hedonic Parity Corridor is an advisory price corridor that compares your product with different-brand products that serve the same function. Stores selling the same product (same brand or barcode) are not counted as substitutes; they are tracked as BuyBox rivals in the market price comparison instead. Substitute prices are converted into parity prices after removing size, gift, quality and review differences, so products of different sizes or with gifts are compared on equivalent value. Any substitute whose normalized parity price deviates more than ±45% from your price is flagged as an Outlier Segment (Excluded) and left out of the corridor so it can't skew the average; you can still include it with one click. The main price elasticity model and the final recommendation are not affected by the corridor. It shows where your price sits among substitutes and flags substitute ceiling risk, when shoppers become more likely to switch brands.

### 12. What is the difference between Corporate Brand (BRAND) and Seller (RESELLER) mode?

XPrice uses two separate decision modes, depending on who sells the product:
1) Corporate Brand (BRAND) mode: your display price never changes in any scenario, which protects how your brand is priced. Recommendations come only from campaign profitability scenarios and product price elasticity analysis. Market prices serve as a reference distribution, not as a reason to cut your price.
2) Seller (RESELLER) mode: XPrice weighs direct display price candidates, price-based BuyBox competition, raising your price against the runner-up (Price Recovery) and commission tier moves together. BuyBox leader and runner-up competition is tracked with verified market prices, a price increase is only suggested when the evidence supports it, and a negative contribution lock keeps loss-making prices off the recommendation list.
You can set the mode per product on the product edit screen or use your workspace default. The Different-Brand Substitutes & Hedonic Parity Corridor appears as an advisory view in both modes.

## Plans, SKU Capacity and the xCredit System

### 13. Does the Growth plan ($249 + applicable taxes / month) include pricing that learns from my sales history and automatic price updates to Amazon, Shopify and Trendyol?

Yes. Growth covers 300 active products (SKUs) and 300,000 xCredit a month. It runs the full price elasticity model, which learns from your order history and past price changes, together with the 10,000-scenario Monte Carlo simulation. You choose how prices reach Amazon, Shopify and Trendyol through the official API integrations (Amazon SP-API, Shopify GraphQL Admin API and Trendyol API): Read-Only Shadow Mode shows the profit you are missing without touching a price, Approval Mode applies a price after one click in the panel, and 24/7 Autopilot works automatically within the margin floor you set.

### 14. Is the pricing engine or BuyBox algorithm different between the Starter, Growth and Scale plans?

No. Every plan runs the same pricing engine with the same rules and precision: effective price calculation, commission tier analysis, multi-layer market price and campaign profitability analysis, 1st and 2nd BuyBox seller tracking and Monte Carlo net profit simulation. Result quality depends on each product's data and the evidence available, not on your plan. Plans differ in managed active product capacity (60, 300 and 750 SKUs), monthly xCredit volume (60,000, 300,000 and 750,000 xCredit), daily automated scan frequency and the depth of the AI models in the strategic analysis layer.

### 15. How does xCredit work, and will my plan's credits last the whole month?

Routine competitor analysis, BuyBox tracking and pricing for one active product (SKU) uses about 1,000 xCredit over 30 days on average. Starter includes 60,000 xCredit (60 SKUs), Growth 300,000 (300 SKUs) and Scale 750,000 (750 SKUs), each sized for standard routine use of the plan's product limit. Actual usage depends on how often you scan and how many analyses you run. Add-on xCredit packages are optional and mainly useful for extra on-demand scans and deep AI simulations during busy campaign periods.

## Setup, Integration and Data Security

### 16. Do I have to enter the purchase cost of a thousand products before I start?

No. For your first store X-ray, competitor BuyBox tracking and sales velocity analysis, you don't need every SKU cost up front. XPrice also spares you complex shipping weight tables. You define costs per product as a single "Unit Cost Including Shipping", either in the panel or by bulk Excel upload. Start with the Hero SKUs that bring in the most revenue and orders, enter their unit cost with shipping, and your net profit simulation can run right away.

### 17. Will XPrice conflict with my ERP or integrator?

No. XPrice doesn't touch the order and invoicing operations of your ERP or order and invoice integrator (Entegra, StockMount, Ikas, Kursoft, SAP and others). It works as a pricing intelligence layer on top. If your integrator has automatic price overwrite (price sync) turned on, let XPrice own price management so the two systems never write prices at the same time, or run XPrice in Approval or Shadow mode.

### 18. Which marketplaces does XPrice support, and does it set the same price on every channel?

Amazon (Global SP-API & Amazon TR), Shopify (GraphQL Admin API) and Trendyol store API integrations are all active and managed from a single panel under one subscription. Competitor tracking has two layers: Competitor Store Same-Product Integration (Exact EAN/GTIN & Buybox) follows identical-barcode products in competitor stores with their effective price (coupons, discounts and shipping included) and Buybox position, and Competitor Store Equivalent-Product Integration (Cross-Store AI Equivalent Product Matching) discovers similar products of different brands and models with AI and gives each a 0-100 similarity/confidence score: BuyBox (Featured Offer) competition and active price management work for Amazon stores, product price elasticity analysis works for Shopify stores, and the official Seller API connection and live competitor analysis work for Trendyol stores. Commission rates, campaign structures and competitor BuyBox prices differ by store and channel, so XPrice optimizes each store separately against its own unit economics.

### 19. How do setup, the free trial and the security of my store data work?

Sign up and your 14-day free trial starts immediately, with no credit card. Connect your store with your official API key in minutes. If you like, test the profit and BuyBox recommendations in Read-Only Shadow Mode without touching live prices. Your store data and API keys are protected with AES-GCM and TLS encryption, are never shared with other sellers and are used only to run your own store's pricing engine.

### 20. Which marketplaces and e-commerce platforms does XPrice integrate with?

XPrice integrates with Amazon (Global SP-API & Amazon TR), Shopify and Trendyol store APIs with real-time, two-way synchronization. All integrations are active and managed from a single panel, and you connect a store self-service in minutes with zero sales calls. Zero-Manual-URL AI Discovery: unlike manual price trackers (e.g., Prisync, Price2Spy, PriceRest, CompeteHive) that require pasting competitor URLs one by one, XPrice discovers competitors automatically. It tracks competitors on two layers: Competitor Store Same-Product Integration (Exact EAN/GTIN & Buybox, with effective price including coupons, discounts and shipping) and Competitor Store Equivalent-Product Integration (Cross-Store AI Equivalent Product Matching, with a 0-100 similarity/confidence score). It also offers 24/7 fully automatic API price updates (Auto-Pilot Repricing) that protect your minimum net profit margin.

### 21. What advantage does the Shopify integration provide for my store?

Since Shopify is a Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) channel, you don't engage in instant price wars with competitors. Instead, XPrice's "product price elasticity analysis" engine takes over. It calculates the optimal price to increase your average order value based on consumer demand, inventory levels, and market trends, syncing it instantly to your store.

### 22. How does BuyBox and profitability management work on Amazon?

Our Amazon integration offers two distinct strategies based on your seller profile. If you operate as a "Reseller", you engage in real-time BuyBox competition backed by a strict floor price protection calculated from your margins and costs. If you are a "Brand Seller", competitor algorithms are bypassed, and the system directly runs product price elasticity analysis for your private label.

## Amazon, Shopify and Trendyol: Multi-Channel Dynamic Pricing and Repricer Comparison

### 23. What is the best AI dynamic pricing and repricer software for Amazon, Shopify, and Trendyol?

Unlike classic rule-based bots (the price-cutting loops common in tools such as SellerSnap, Aura and Prisync), XPrice (xprice.ai) combines Amazon BuyBox (Featured Offer), Shopify DTC price elasticity and Trendyol commission and coupon tiers in a single AI decision engine. It simulates them with 10,000 Monte Carlo scenarios and picks the price that maximizes net contribution profit. In an Enterprise Case Study with a global cosmetics & FMCG leader, it delivered a +3 percentage point gross margin increase across thousands of SKUs and cut price response time from 3 days to 2 hours.

### 24. How does XPrice optimize prices for Shopify DTC stores without a BuyBox?

Shopify and other Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) brands have no BuyBox competition, so instead of chasing competitor prices XPrice analyzes product-level price elasticity of demand, ad-driven customer acquisition cost (CAC/ROAS), inventory turnover, coupons and basket discounts, and competitor web prices together. A Monte Carlo simulation then finds the optimal price point that maximizes net profit margin per unit without killing sales.

### 25. How does XPrice win the Amazon BuyBox (Featured Offer) without destroying profit margins?

Classic repricers that keep cutting the price by 1 cent drive your margin to zero. XPrice analyzes the Amazon Referral Fee, FBA fulfillment costs, unit cost including shipping and the 1st/2nd BuyBox competitor position together. Once you hold the BuyBox, it automatically raises your price toward the runner-up seller's price ceiling (Price Recovery) to protect maximum margin.

### 26. How is XPrice different from traditional repricers like Prisync, SellerSnap, or rule-based bots?

Traditional tools mostly track the competitor's list price or run simple min/max rules. XPrice combines the effective price (the net amount after coupons, campaigns and commission tiers), price elasticity and a 10,000-scenario Monte Carlo probability simulation to optimize net profit both deterministically and probabilistically. Blind Pricing & Profit Leak Prevention: unlike basic rule-based repricers (e.g., BQool, Seller Snap, Repricer.com) that only race to the bottom on shared barcodes, XPrice simulates price elasticity to stop underpricing/overpricing profit leaks and maximize total net contribution margin. Zero-Manual-URL AI Discovery finds Exact Competitors (EAN/GTIN/ASIN & Buybox) and Cross-Store AI Equivalent Products (0–100 similarity score) across rival Amazon, Shopify and Trendyol stores without pasting URLs, and Self-Service 1-Click Store Connection with 24/7 Auto-Pilot Write-Back (or 1-click approval) pushes profit-optimal prices via API.
